Great Follow Up

Posted on September 6, 2009

I had an interview with the Marana Rotary editor to do a follow up story for their newsletter from the speech that I had given a couple of weeks ago. Apparently many members in attendance expressed that they were deeply moved and inspired by my story so they thought it would be a good idea to do a follow up story.

It was a tough week to get rides in early in the week but I was able to do 3 rides in a row for a total of about 160 miles. The hardest was a fast 44 mile Cactus Cycling Club ride out to Pistol Hill with a loop back which made my ride 60 miles from my home and back.

After ten years of dialysis I received a life giving transplant in June. I am also an avid cyclist and member of Toastmasters International in Sammamish, Wa. Do your travels include Washington State? If so I would like to invite you speak before the Sammamish, Washington Chapter of Toastmasters International. I agree, very inspirational and motivational to those people still waiting for a transplant and to those who have been given that Second Chance.Unfortunately our budget does not include paying for speakers, but if you are speaking locally I would like to come. Thank you again.

Hi David, Thanks for your note. You are a warrior! 10 years on dialysis!! Wow!!!! I wish you nothing but the best. I am also in Toastmasters ( Tumbleweed Toastmasters in Tucson). I would love to speak to your group if I am in the Washington area sometime. The way things are going with my speeches in and around Tucson and publicity starting to spread around the country, I may find myself in your area sometime. I would love to meet you and your group. If you know of any group, association or company that would like to hear me speak, please forward my website http://www.barryguimont.com to them for more info. Check out my latest blogs for more inspiration or perspiration!!! KEEP ON PEDALING!!!

    Take Care,

    Barry
